Mission Philippines Served May 1974 - May 1976 Areas Served Davao City;Lapu-Lapu(opened it with Elder Lowe);Bacolod City; Binalbagan,Negros Occ.;Iligan City;Iloilo city(Molo-Tiigbauan) Companions EldersJacobson;DouglasLowe(Provo);Layton(Can);JohnBench(Utah);ButlerUtah);Michael Chang(Hawaii);Samuel Jackman(Utah) Comment Pres.Paul Rose became the first Mission President in the Philippines handling the Northern Pacific.Then,he was replaced by Pres.Dewiitt Smith handling this time the Philippines Mission.Then, Pres.Carl D.Jones replaced Pres.Smith in 1973. I served my mission under Pres.Jones in 1974-76. Sometime in September 1974,Pres.Jones and i were in the highest peak of the Cebu Taoist temple during a transfer day. He said to me,pointing downward:"Elder Sanchez,do you see that spot of lot over there(Lahug area)?" I said :"Yes,Pres.Jones.What about it?"He had prophetic words in saying:"That would be the spot of the temple lot." And so,.."And it came to pass,,,,"after 35 years, we are ALL now awaiting for the dedication of the Cebu Temple.// that's how i defined what my mission is.
